Adolf Hitler shown shoveling some dirt at a construction site for a new highway. The Austrian-born German politician and leader of the Nazi Party became Chancellor of Germany in 1933 and Führer in 1934. A decorated veteran of World War I, he initiated World War II by invading Poland in 1939, and started the Holocaust, resulting to the deaths of an estimated six million Jews in Europe. After being defeated in 1945, Hitler would reportedly commit suicide by shooting himself in the head.
