A Girl And Her Bush

Shown in a 1970 photo is a woman who looks to be naked but covered with thick leaves on branches.  Though not exactly a tree, the message appears to be that of getting one with nature, which goes with environmentalism.  The term “tree hugger” is a slang, and sometimes derogatory term for environmentalists who go to great lengths, and even to the extreme, as part of their movement in environmental protection.  The term was said to have been first used in 1965 to refer to an advocate for the preservation of woodlands.  There’s even a term called “tree sitting,” where protesters or activists sit on a tree to prevent it from being cut down.
