Sometimes texting the wrong number can turn out to be pretty cool – and one woman recently found out just how cool it can be!
When Charlyn Willis of Savannah, Georgia got engaged, she texted everyone close to her with the great news. However…in the midst of all the excitement, Charlyn accidentally dialed the wrong phone number for her sister, but instead of the text simply getting lost in the air waves like most wrong-number text messages, this message landed in the hands of a celebrity.
Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar, made famous in iconic 90s movies and television shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Cruel Intentions, got the text instead of Charlyn’s sister. Instead of ignoring it, Sarah decided to personally congratulate the newly engaged bride-to-be!
Sarah shared the photo to Instagram and Facebook along with the message:
“This is #CharlynWillis. She got engaged yesterday, and meant to text her sister, but in all the excitement, got me instead. Her sister didn’t respond, but I did. So please help me say congrats, to Charlyn. (And her fiancé whose name I don’t know)#congratulations”
Charlyn went on to explain in her own Facebook post, the fun details.
“I guess the best way to announce your engagement is to have a celebrity to do it for you.. THANKS Sarah Michelle Gellar… AND YES, I SAID YES to Dee!!!!!”
Sarah’s fans were pretty stoked that she took the time to respond. “Can you Imagine accidentally texting Buffy? I hope she is invited to the wedding AND goes!” one fan wrote. Another gushed, “That would be one of my dream misdials. So awesome that you would take the time. I’m sure she’s a doubly happy lady!”
