Veteran actress, Maggie Smith is well respected by many for her numerous roles and awards. Not many know that Smith started her career on Broadway where she performed in the comedy revue of New Faces of 1956. Later on, she began to star in bigger roles and started getting more recognition for her superb acting. Under her belt, she has 2 Academy Awards, 1 Tony, 4 Emmys, 3 Golden Globes, and 5 Screen Actor Guild Awards. You’d think at 85 years old she would be slowing down but she’s still taking on different roles, some of which are pivotal ones like her role as Violet Crawley in the award-winning TV series Downton Abbey.
