Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater video game was first released in 1999 following his gold medal wins at the 1995 and 1997 X Games. Ever since, Hawk’s video game has been updated several times, with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 now available at stores.

Anyway, the latest trend in video games appears to be the more real, the better. For many, Pokémon Go fulfills dreams because it combines virtual reality with everyday life. It has also prompted a serious throwback to many people’s childhoods. You gotta love Pokémon moving from cards to actual floating characters on the street.

For Dylan Bowser, a student at UNC-Asheville in North Carolina, the idea of transferring a video game into reality came to him before the rise of Pokémon Go. Watch how he creatively transforms his friend’s real-life skateboard video into an exact replica of Tony Hawk’s game below, only instead of Pro Skater, he hysterically names it Decent Skater.
