Almost everyone wants to add a little fitness into their lives, whether it is to generally feel better emotionally, or just tone up a bit physically. To some, working out is just a thought, but to others – it’s all about finding the right workout routine that works for you! If you have been struggling to find a workout suitable for your needs…you just may want to check out the weird workout trends below!

Aqua Zumba

There is no doubt you have probably heard of Zumba before. This form of a workout combines fun, with fitness. While music plays in the background, Zumba participants typically learn dance moves that work to keep their heart elevated. A new form of Zumba has recently emerged and is growing just as popular as its the original. Aqua Zumba is basically Zumba – but in a pool.

There is some credence to Aqua Zumba. The natural resistance of the water can make dancing just a bit more difficult. However, this resistance also allows you to work up a decent sweat. And…since you are already in a pool of refreshing water, you can workout even longer without overheating! Just don’t drink the water!

Aqua Zumba is also pretty easy on the body, which makes it a great workout for those with injuries or older!

You no longer have to hit the beach to go surfing! Oh, and there are no sharks!

Surfset brings the ocean and big waves to you, indoors!

It basically involves a machine that simulates what riding on the waves is like. This exercise requires you to use your core and other muscles in order to keep your balance. A lot of fitness centers have adopted Surfset, so it shouldn’t be difficult to find the machine if you’re considering adding this workout to your routine.

Mermaid Classes

If you have ever dreamed of becoming a mermaid, now is your chance!

There are actually classes that you can sign up for, that will teach you how to swim like a mermaid! You’re given an actual mermaid tail that you wear throughout the class. It fits over your legs and hugs your waistline nice and tight.

This class teaches you a brand new way to swim. Instead of using both legs to kick around in the water like you normally would, mermaid classes teach you how to use both legs at the same time. This works your core in an incredible way. The tail is a little different from your standard resistance bands, but the exercise will build muscle in your legs and strengthen your core.

Stay in shape!

There are definitely a ton of other interesting workouts that you can try, but the key to all of them is to keep your body moving and stay healthy!
