Joe Sakic

Zimbio

Canadian ice hockey legend and two-time Stanley Cup champion Joe Sakic spent his 21-year career playing for only two franchises, the Quebec Nordiques and Colorado Avalanche. He may have retired a decade ago but is still very much a part of the game as the Executive Vice President of hockey operations for the Avalanche. His other longstanding partnership is with his wife, Debbie Metivier, whom he met in high school while still playing for the Swift Current Broncos in the WHL. The two tied the knot in 1993 while Joe was playing for the Quebec Nordiques and have since been blessed with three children: Mitchell, born in 1996, and fraternal twins Kamryn and Chase, who were born in 2000 during Joe’s sixth season with the Avalanche, where he is known as “Super Joe.”
