Although the tower can look a little crowded, the fish simply look larger than they are because of the glass and water.

This allows enough oxygenation and space for the koi to grow. As for water volume, koi ponds should hold 1,000 gallons of water at a minimum. At its deepest points, your pond should at least 6 feet; there should also be shallow areas of about 2-3 feet. At least two pumps keep water circulating and prevent stagnant areas and proper filtration is also vital.
