Most forget that the birthplace of the Olympics was originally in ancient Greece before being reborn in the early 1800s. Still, the Olympics were a little different in Ancient Greece, but the concept is there.
The Greeks were also the leaders of art and architecture. They have influenced the designs of buildings for many centuries.
Basically, everything you think about modern civilization came from the Greeks. The history of ancient Greece has to be one of the most fascinating.
Jewish Culture
Jewish culture has contributed greatly to religion, ethics, and law.
Jewish beliefs and values that are based on ancient traditions spanning thousands of years are the foundation of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The belief in one God, which is the introduction of Judaism, is today accepted by people all over the world.
As is well known, the uprooting of Jewish people from their native lands and their enduring diaspora has enriched science, literature, and philosophy, more so as the people scientifically advanced. Baruch Spinoza was one of the leading contributors to the emergence of modern philosophy.
Jewish symbols and Jewish art and culture have also seeped into everyday life. You’ve symbols of Jewish art and culture, like the Star of David, the menorah, or a Hebrew name necklace giving great artistic and cultural value.
These days, the Jewish culture finds its place in the widespread media.
Chinese Civilization
The rich and colossal history of China’s civilization has contributed immensely to the turning points of history.
We all know technology, but it isn’t the modern technology we’re referring to. It’s technologies like gunpowder, paper, and the compass that changed the course of world conflict, geographical exploration, and international interaction altogether.
Confucianism, which developed in the classic period of China, has also impacted social conduct and institutions, including government in Asia.
We also have to talk about the art – it’s stunning. Calligraphy, paintings, symbols, it’s all beautifully crafted in China with inspiration spanning thousands of years. And don’t get us started on the rich literary history comprising poetry, philosophy, and fiction, all having a massive influence on other forms of literature over the centuries.
There are so many cultures and civilizations that have changed the course of history. And in the Western world, it might not be as easy to pick them out, but there are influences from across the globe. And, as we said, no, it isn’t only the food culture we’re talking about!
