There will soon be a new way to travel from Colorado to Utah and points in between — and it’s pretty awesome!

Opening in August 2021, a glass-domed train will take off from a Denver, Colorado train station and head towards Moab, Utah! The train route is called “Rockies to the Red Rocks and it will be a two day trip that will offer passengers incredible scenery while traveling. There will also be an overnight stop in a small Colorado town – Glenwood Springs – which is best-known for its hot springs.

Throughout the trip, you will be treated to all sorts of beautiful sights like rivers, desert cliffs, and expansive mountains. But there is a wonderful feature about the train that makes it even more of a unique journey: it has oversized glass-dome windows. That means you are able to take it all in from all different angles possible.

The train will offer a fun social experience and will off plenty of fine dining options.

The train is run by a company called Rocky Mountaineer, which already has three other luxury train lines running through Western Canada. The president and chief executive officer of Rocky Mountaineer, Steve Sammut, released a statement that said the new route had been ongoing for several years. Sammut noted that the company needed “a special location with many of the same features we have in Western Canada: incredible scenery, iconic destinations, and the option for an all daytime, multi-day journey that is best experienced by train.”

If everything goes well, the Rockies train ride will be taking off from its station in August 2021. As Sammut has shared, the COVID-19 pandemic has had a “devastating impact on the travel industry” and as a result, there is still so much ambiguity surrounding the subject of travel. However, as Sammut has shared, they’re sure that those who live in the US, as well as those who may be coming from abroad, will be excited to “explore this region by rail with us and we look forward to welcoming them in 2021 and beyond.”
