Flat-screen TV

New York Times

Without a doubt, in-house entertainment systems have become a household essential if not a status symbol. At the center of it all is the state-of-the-art flat screen television and the larger you have the better. However, you must never compromise safety especially for your little ones. As such, you have to make sure that large TV sets are securely supported on stable stands or better yet anchored securely to the wall. According to the Journal of Neuroscience: Pediatrics, “TV-related injuries to kids have become more common and more serious over the past decade as TV sets have grown bigger and become more affordable.” Moreover, these TV screens emit radiation from electrical system and the screen itself. Thus, it is recommended that you do not sit close to the TV screen to avoid EMF and UV light radiation.
