Possession of a deadly weapon such as guns inside the home is dangerous especially if you have children. In fact, nearly 2 million children in the U.S. live with unlocked and loaded guns. Unfortunately, parents do not realize how serious a lethal weapon is inside the home. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), they advised that the safest place for a child is a home without guns. They added, “The most effective way to prevent unintentional gun injuries, suicide and homicide to children and adolescent, research shows, is the absence of guns from homes and communities.” Conversely, the debate surrounding the right to own a gun in the United States is a controversial topic. Nonetheless, we are talking about safety and a deadly weapon in your home is obviously not a matter of discourse especially when kids are involved. Seriously, it is something to ponder about.
