Formerly called Persia, Iran is an Islamic country in Western Asia. It is the 2nd largest country in the Middle East with its capital in Tehran. Iran has the world’s second largest proved gas reserves after Russia. It is home to one of the world’s oldest civilizations, with several empires rising and falling for thousands of years. Its rich history has witnessed an abundance of natural and man-made wonders like awesome landscapes, majestic palaces and architecture, classic bathhouses, and recent breathtaking resorts and other tourist attractions. While not many tourists frequent Iran, tourists should be reminded that there are some things you must never do when visiting the country. Given the recent debacle with the US, it is obvious that if you are an American, don’t go to Iran. Or even if you look like an American, you may be in danger and be at the receiving end of a nation’s revenge.
