The old school game of ‘Pick-Up Sticks’ was first introduced to the United States in 1936. The game originated from the country of Hungary. The name ‘pick-up sticks’ is believe to have come from this children’s nursery rhyme:
One, two, buckle my shoe,
Three, four, shut the door,
Five, six, pick up sticks,
Seven, eight, lay them straight,
Nine, ten, a big fat hen.”
It’s a fun game kids can play and it teaches them all sorts of things, from dexterity to planning. If you played this game as a kid, you understand how fun it is. This video features a newer, giant version that no doubt kept these kids busy for awhile. Two thumbs up for being creative!!!!
