Truck Driver Destroys Historic Bridge Because She Couldn’t Do The Math

Many of us suffered through math classes in school, usually frustrated in knowing that we were never going to use most of it in our future careers. Well, not so fast. Here’s a story of someone who should not have slept through her math class and just shrugged off those mathematical equations.

May Lambright, 23, was driving a 30 ton truck onto a 6 ton max rated bridge. The Paoli, Indiana landmark, is now thrashed as a result.

Now May apparently knew about the 6 ton weight limit put on the bridge which goes back to 1880, as she had driven her own personal vehicle on it a number of times and always had seen the 6 ton limit sign.

Here’s the kicker. She wasn’t exactly aware of how many pounds that was. So when she didn’t want to try to back up on the road leading to the bridge, she thought to roll the dice and haul ass through the bridge in the Volva truck she was driving which weighed a mere five times over the limit.

While her trucking company will no doubt be buried in legal fees over this, May is going to walk away relatively unscathed with a mere $135 ticket for reckless operation of a tractor-trailer.

OUCH!

May can also consider checking companies offering semi truck insurance for better coverage on situations like these.
