Who says you have to wait until you get home from camping to wash all your clothes? If you are camping in the wilderness…washing your clothes is almost a no-go. If you are camping at a campground, there are typically washing machines there…but why lug your laundry all over the place and have to pay to wash your clothes? You can wash them right at your campsite, with this simple hack!
All you need is a 5-gallon bucket, a plunger and some laundry soap!
Take a regular plunger and carefully cut small holes around it, like the picture below.
Fill the bucket with warm water, add your laundry soap and place your clothing inside.
Place the plunger handle through the cover of the bucket. (Getting a bucket with a pouring hole works best. If you get a bucket that has a cover without a hole already in it, simply cut your own!).
Place the lid on the bucket (with the plunger handle through the hole). Plunge up and down and start washing those clothes!
After a few minutes of plunging, remove your clothes. Use another bucket filled with water to rinse them…and then hang them! Voila! Clean clothes!
