Wasps, many people don’t like them — mainly because they are aggressive, but not all wasps are aggressive. Some are actually quite chill and docile – hippie wasps!

A recent study proved that wasps will make rainbow/psychedelic nests if they have the right materials.

The experiment conducted by Mattia Menchetti, a biology student at the University of Florence. He realized that by giving a captive colony of European paper wasps different colored paper over time, the insects would eventually construct their own kaleidoscopic houses. The results were quite remarkable.

Another example of bees and wasps using materials around them was…in 2012, beekeepers in France were amazed to discover that their bees had created green and blue honey. The reason? The unsuspecting insects were using sugar collected from the shells of M&Ms at a nearby waste-processing plant.
