Nobody enjoys going to the DMV. There are long lines and wait times – and quite frankly – it’s just a pain in the a**.  In an order to shorten lines at the DMV, they allow people to renew their license online. A quick and easy way to just get the job done and move on with your day – right? Well, not all the time, and no one knows this better than Jade Dodd!

Jane did what millions of Americans probably do on the daily, she renewed her driver’s license using the DMV’s online services. She had no reason to suspect that anything went wrong – that is until she opened up her mail.

Jane was totally expecting the normal – blah – license photo that she submitted online, however, Jane’s license arrived with a photo of an empty chair.

The royal mixup was posted to Facebook by Jade.

As Jade shared with WKRN News 2, when she went to the DMV to get it fixed, the woman initially didn’t believe her. But when Jade insisted, the woman looked it up in the system and was quite shocked. According to Jade, the woman’s exact words were, “oh, I need my manager for this.”

Addressing the incident in a statement with News 2, Wes Moster from the Tennessee Department of Safety & Homeland Security explained, “When the customer visited the Driver Services Center a few years ago, during the transaction, an examiner made an error by capturing and saving the wrong photo (of an empty chair) to the customer’s profile. When the customer recently renewed her driver license online, she received an image of a chair because that was the last picture taken on file. When the Department was made aware of her situation, we immediately made things right with the customer and provided her with a license with her actual photo and have addressed this situation internally.”
