Since no peace treaty has been signed between them, North Korea is technically still at war, albeit a cold one, with South Korea. Efforts are being made to have the Korean peninsula denuclearized as the unconventional warfare capabilities of the nation are well-known. Internally, however, there is no violence due to terrorism or militant groups as compared to other countries. The capital of Pyongyang can even be visited by tourists via an organized tour but will have to stay within the city to avoid straying into military restricted area.
