Although it has been reported that the violence has somewhat decreased in the past year, the danger and threat is still high as the country’s military forces and US-led coalition continues its military operations against ISIS. Hotels, restaurants, and other public places continue to be targets for terror attacks, while Turkish forces conduct its own military efforts against the Kurdistan Workers Party or PKK, an armed group active in Turkey and has entrenched itself in the norther Iraqi border. The fight against terror has also resulted to human rights violations for those suspected to be affiliated with ISIS.
