You can save a lot of time when it comes to navigating the web by learning these simple keyboard shortcuts. The shortcuts below work with the Google Chrome browser and are shown for both a Mac and PC.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n To open a new tab, hold Command<\/strong> and press T<\/strong>. For PC, hold Ctrl<\/strong> and press T<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Never click that stupid little “x” to close tabs again. Rather, save time by holding Command<\/strong>and pressing W<\/strong>. For PC, hold Ctrl<\/strong> and press W<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I hate when I close a tab, then realize crap, I still needed that info. I just hold Command<\/strong> and Shift<\/strong>, then press T <\/strong>to quickly recover it. For PC, hold Ctrl<\/strong> and Shift<\/strong>, then press T<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Rapidly move to the next tab by holding Command<\/strong> and Option<\/strong>, then pressing the right arrow key. <\/strong>For PC, hold Ctrl<\/strong> and press tab<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Switch to the previous tab by holding Command<\/strong> and Option<\/strong>, then press the left arrow key<\/strong>. For PC, hold Ctrl<\/strong> and press 9<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 6. Switch to a specific tab (first eight tabs)<\/strong><\/p>\n If you\u00a0need to jump to a specific tab, hold Command<\/strong> and select the appropriate number. For example, if you\u00a0need to jump to the seventh tab open, hold Command and press 7. If you\u00a0need to jump back to the second tab open, hold Command and press 2. For PC, it’s the same action, just hold Ctrl<\/strong> instead of Command.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n If you are\u00a0reading an article that has an intriguing hyperlink in it, open it in a new tab by holding Command<\/strong> and clicking the link. Rather, hold Command<\/strong> and press L<\/strong> to jump my cursor to the search bar.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n If you\u00a0totally screw up a URL or Google search, you can quickly start it over by holding Command\u00a0<\/strong>pressing delete. <\/strong>For PC, hold Ctrl<\/strong> and press Backspace<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n To highlight the next word in a search, hold Shift<\/strong> and Option<\/strong>, then press the right arrow key<\/strong>. For PC, hold Ctrl<\/strong> and press the right arrow key<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n To highlight the previous word, hold Shift<\/strong> and option<\/strong>, then press the left arrow key<\/strong>. On PC, hold Ctrl\u00a0<\/strong>and press G<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Read an awesome article? Or need to bookmark a useful tool? Hold Command<\/strong> and press D<\/strong>. On PC, hold Ctrl<\/strong> and press D<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Need to activate an extension (such as Sidekick<\/a>, an email productivity tool)? Hold command\u00a0<\/strong>and press the comma<\/strong> key. There is no keyboard shortcut for this for PC.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Downloaded something you quickly need to reference? Hold Command<\/strong> and Shift<\/strong>, then press J<\/strong>. For PC, hold Ctrl<\/strong> and press J<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Have too many tabs open, but don’t want to close them yet? Open a new window. To do this, hold Command<\/strong> and press N<\/strong>. On PC, hold Ctrl<\/strong> and press N<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n No this isn’t a keyboard shortcut, but it’s just as useful. If I want to focus on only one tab, I’ll click the tab and drag it downwards until a new window opens. This helps me focus on only one tab, by removing it from a cluster of too many other tabs.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Quickly close the current window by holding Command<\/strong> and Shift<\/strong>, then press W<\/strong>. On PC, hold Ctrl<\/strong> and Shift<\/strong> and press W<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n To minimize the current window, hold Command<\/strong> and press M<\/strong>.
