Have you ever been scrolling through social media on your phone, tablet or TV and come across a picture of food – and thought to yourself – ‘I bet that tastes amazing!’.

If so, than you soon may be able to taste that picture! Sounds odd right? Well, it is, but it is also quite fascinating!

A Japanese professor has created a prototype for a lickable LCD screen that will allow you to taste different flavors!

According to Reuters, the screen works by employing a “carousel of 10 flavor canisters that spray in combination” in order to mimic the taste of real food, as explained by Reuters. The spray sample is then placed onto a “hygienic film” which is on a flat TV screen so that the viewer can taste it.
