Superman debuted in 1938 in the comic book ‘Action Comics’ and that very first edition just sold for a whopping $6 million at Heritage Auction’s, setting a new record for comics. The copy that sold was professionally graded an 8.5 out of 10.
This sale broke the previous high record for a comic book sold at auction. A new mint 9.6 graded copy of Amazing Fantasy No. 15 sold in 2021 for $3.6 million.
