Amid the Black Lives Matter protests, Cops has officially been canceled 4 days after being pulled off the air.

The TV show COPS has been on the air for over 30-years, but Paramount Network has made the decision to cancel the show.

The decision came after the ViacomCBS-owned cabler had removed the long-running show from air.

The police show, which originated on Fox in 1989, had been pulled days before its scheduled season premiere, an action that came amid questions and protests about policing. The show aired 32-complete seasons.

Cops is not on the Paramount Network and we don’t have any current or future plans for it to return,” a network spokesperson said.

The show’s 33rd season had been scheduled to premiere on Monday. But no episode has aired on Paramount Network since at least June 1.

There are certainly a ton of mixed reviews in regards to the cancellation of the series.

And while many think it’s not enough, it’s a step in the right direction.

“It ain’t ‘Defund the Police’ but I’ll take ‘Cops is cancelled’ as an appetizer,” wrote one social media user.

A lot of people didn’t even realize the show was still on the air!
