Momma’s Nachos

Momma Goldberg’s Deli in Auburn, Alabama has been whipping up this delicious snack since 1978 and boy oh boy is it worth a share! One, because it’s so good and two, you can make this snack right at home!

For students at Auburn University, it’s practically a prerequisite that they can’t graduate until they’ve eaten at Momma Goldberg’s Deli, an AU favorite since 1976.

Specifically, they have to order the essential Momma G’s meal — a Momma’s Love sub sandwich with a side of Momma’s Nachos.

If you want to make them at home, this is how it’s done!

Grab a back of nacho-cheese-flavored Dorito’s tortilla chips, spread them out on aluminum foil, top them with slices of pepper-jack cheese and layer on some pickled jalapenos. Momma’s Deli uses the kitchen’s sandwich steamers to melt the cheese, but you can simply place them in the oven on 350 degrees for 3-5 minutes.

Want to steam them yourself? Simply places a tiny dish with water on the pan, cover in tin foil tightly and back for 3-5 minutes at 350 degrees. Viola!

Enjoy!
