Those who didn’t watch the Oscar’s last evening are waking up to news of the big ‘Best Pictures’ award mistake. Those of you who were watching last night…got to witness a little Oscar drama in the making. 

This is the moment where crew/cast of ‘La La Land’ realizes a mistake had been made and ‘Moonlight’ actually won Best Picture at The Academy Awards.

The statement below was made by the company (PricewaterhouseCoopers) who creates and hands out the winners envelopes to the presenters.

“The presenters had mistakenly been given the wrong category envelope and when discovered, was immediately corrected,” the statement continued. “We are currently investigating how this could have happened, and deeply regret that this occurred. We appreciate the grace with which the nominees, the academy, ABC and Jimmy Kimmel handled the situation,” a reference to the network and the host of the Oscars ceremony.
