Car Thieves Are Now Using Water Bottles To Steal Cars Right In Front Of The Driver

There is a new trend among car thieves when it comes to stealing cars and the plan actually involves the driver/owner of the vehicle.

Thieves are placing water bottles in between the car and the passenger side tire. But why?

Well, a video is circulating that answers that question — but we will answer it for you also.

When you park and exit your vehicle, the thief will place a water bottle in between your cars fender and passenger tire. Then they sit and wait. When you return to your vehicle, you get in and start it up as usual. When you start to drive, the water bottle is crushed and a loud popping/crackling sound is set off. Naturally, you will get out of the car and check out what that awful sound was.

When you get out of the vehicle, the keys will typically still be in the ignition as you walk around the vehicle to investigate. And that is when the thieves will pounce. As you are on the other side of the vehicle, the thieves will jump in the car, slam the door and roll out! It’s truly that easy — and scary too!

The best way to prevent this is to always walk around your vehicle prior to getting in. If you see a water bottle places in between the fender and tire, it’s best to not get into the car and find a safe, populated place to call authorities — or have someone assist you to your vehicle.
