An asteroid the size of a stadium is heading near Earth this week.

Although it will come ‘close’ to Earth, fear not — as the asteroid will still be 3.16 million miles away, according to NASA-linked Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

But it may be taller than the Empire State Building, which is 1,454 feet tall. The asteroid is estimated to be between 820 feet and 1,870 feet in diameter and will pass by Earth on Saturday, 6/6/2020.

The asteroid was first spotted nearly two decades ago and is called 2002 NN4. Over 20,000 asteroids pass by Earth each year, many go unnoticed.
