With hurricane Irma making landfall in Florida shortly, residents are stocking up on as much clean drinking water as possible. Sadly, the supply is already running low. This simple water storage idea is brilliant and will allow you to store fresh water in your freezer and/or fridge during the event of a natural disaster.

Here is what you need to do!

Buy a box of 1-gallon ziplock bags and fill them with clean water. Freeze them  upright in your freezer. If you lose power during at any time, the frozen water will slowly melt, but will provide you will clean, fresh drinking water.

This method is also cheaper than purchasing bottled water.

Water is the most important staple to have during a natural disaster and is the difference between life and death in certain situations.
