Tom Petty arrived at the hospital brain dead and the decision to pull the plug has been made.
Tom Petty was rushed to the hospital Sunday night after he was found unconscious, not breathing and in full cardiac arrest … law enforcement sources told TMZ.
EMTs rushed to his Malibu home and were able to get a pulse. He was rushed to the UCLA Santa Monica Hospital he was put on life support. Petty’s family made the decision to remove him from life support at that time.
Correction : At the time of death Petty was 66. Petty would have turned 67 on October 20th.
Petty was an American musician, singer, songwriter, multi instrumentalist and record producer. He was best known as the lead singer of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, but was also known as a member and co-founder of the late 1980s supergroup the Traveling Wilburys.
Petty’s lyrics and musical production was nothing shy of pure genius. His music resonated with the masses and he truly was a cultural icon.
