A family in China raised what they thought was a Tibetan Mastiff dog, which they brought back from vacation in 2016. Turns out, it wasn’t a dog at all.

Su Yun lives in the village of Yunnan and described the animal as having quite the large appetite and eating over a box of fruits and two buckets of noodles every single day.

As the animal grew, the family realized it started to look like a bear and even started walking on two legs.

“The more he grew, the more like a bear he looked,” Yun said via the Independent. “I am a little scared of bears.”

The family called authorities for help with the large animal and the bear was transferred to the Yunnan Wildlife Rescue Center.

The bear was identified by officials as an endangered Asiatic Black Bear, which is valued at thousands of dollars on the black market, according to the Independent..

But seriously…how on earth do you not notice that this was a bear…even as a cub/pup???
