One diver and cameraman came very close to getting swallowed up by a massive humpback whale!
According to ABC News, Patrick Dykstra was leading a group of cameramen on an expedition off the coast of northern Norway in hopes of capturing some footage of killer whales.
Ironically, the best material was an accidental encounter with a non-killer humpback whale that, that came super close to swallowing Dykstra altogether.
He says, “It’s hard to tell from the video, but the whale swerved last minute to avoid hitting me.” This specimen weighs 35,000 pounds, so swerving last minute is no small feat.
The diver has being diving for over 20-years and this is the first time he has ever encountered something remarkable like this.
