Mandy Harvey lost her hearing completely when she was just 19-years-old due to an illness that caused the nerves in her ears to disintegrate. Harvey, now 29, was forced to quite music school where she was studying to be a singer/songwriter.

Determined not to let the loss of her hearing stop her from perusing her passion, Mandy learned how to feel the vibrations of the music through her feet and keep her pitch while singing, using a manual tuner.

Mandy wowed the judges and the world last night after her America’s Got Talent audition aired. Playing and singing an original song ‘Try’, Mandy earned the golden buzzer from judge Simon Cowell.

She has a beautiful story and a beautiful voice. Check out her audition below!
