This is absolutely incredible!

Light travels at 186,282 miles per second, making it impossible to properly photograph. However, thanks to the efforts of MIT scientists we can now capture light in movement. Utilizing a special camera that shoots one trillion frames per second, scientists are able to track the effects of light as it moves across objects.

Creating this videos takes an incredible amount of time, despite the camera’s speed. Lasers and the camera work in conjunction to capture the light as it moves through space. In order to get a complete picture, the camera needs to take 500 pictures of each part of an object. These pictures are then combined to create video of the lights movement.
