Sadly, the physician that looked after her revealed that Alhanna’s kidneys were failing. The pain that she was experiencing earlier was due to an infection that was quickly spreading inside her and because her complaints were often brushed aside as being “normal” during pregnancy, it remained untreated, causing massive damage to her kidneys. Had she not noticed Keola’s constant nudging, there was a possibility that she would not have made it to the hospital at all. She cannot believe that her dog was there through and through.
