Paige was born into an athletic family. Her dad was a member of the 1976 Pittsburgh Panthers national championship college football team, and her mother was a professional ballerina. Her older sister was a track scholar at Stanford. So her natural abilities in athletics is not surprising. Paige started out in gymnastics, but a twice-broken kneecap destroyed her gymnastics dream, and pushed her to golf. She was also a victim of bullying and sought the isolation of golf as her sanctuary. She immediately took to the sport and enjoyed it so much.
