As a child, she was an avid gymnast. She trained hard everyday, and dreamt of competing for the country in the Olympics. But a knee injury (twice) derailed her aspirations. That, and the fact that she was bullied by the other gymnasts, drove her to another sport, golf. Being a natural athlete, she was quick to learn the game, and saw a future in the sport. In her early career, she won 5 tournaments in 7 tries on Colorado’s junior golf circuit, becoming a top 20 junior player in the world, a top-5 college recruit, and a tw0-time West Region Player of the Year and first team All-American as a member of the Future Collegians World Tour. This earned her a golf scholarship from the University of Arizona.
