There is no doubt that Grandma had good intentions when she purchased a colorfully illustrated animal filled children’s book from Barnes and Nobles. However, what she thought was such a book…was most certainly not!
If you came across a book called If Animals Could Talk you’d probably assume it’s completely appropriate for children, right?
The idea of talking animals is certainly nothing new! There are thousands of books featuring talking animals and hundreds of shows on Netflix that feature the talking creatures!
This book must be totally suitable for children, right?
Well, once you open the book…a different…rather colorful story begins to be told.
I’m dying. My mom bought this book for my 6 year old and I just called to ask if she had actually opened the book. She hadn’t. ???? pic.twitter.com/inYCEaZKpV

That’s what Twitter user Tiffany discovered when she took a closer look at the book her mother had bought for her 6-year-old daughter.
Tiffany called her mom to tell her about the hilarious mixup. But grandma had a solid excuse for why she picked it up for her granddaughter.
She said it was on the kids table at Barnes & Noble ?

It would appear that there may have been a bit of a prankster working at Barnes and Nobles that day…or…the employee was fooled by the artwork and title of the book too!
The book clearly isn’t for children, but lets just admit that the captions and images are quite funny!
I couldn’t even talk when I called her. Here’s the first page: pic.twitter.com/gRvuNrxMCX

The author clearly dug deep into their inner being to come up with such prolific phrasing and heartfelt wording.
Some 60k people took to Twitter to laugh over the mishap.
????? good thing you took a gander before busting it out with the kids!!!

However…like mother like daughter seemed to play into this situation.
Nope! 6 year old was reading with Dad and said “I don’t even know what this means” ???????

So the lesson here is…look at your kids books prior to handing them off to them! Otherwise, your kid may get quite the learning lesson!
You guys this book is amazing. pic.twitter.com/q0Bye8h4hQ

Not all the pages are super intense and profanity laced however.
No, I was hoping for that too. pic.twitter.com/jCidoyGPSH

Eventually, the co-author of the book chimed in with his own suggestion of how to handle the mishap…and it wasn’t a bad suggestion!
? haha. I appreciate Granny's taste. Maybe you can regift on your 6 yr old's 18th? ? Glad it gave you some laughs. Hope you enjoy the book.
