Josh Jaconelli’s 6-year-old daughter, Ava, is just like most other six year old little girls, she loves Disney princesses. Ava, however, is confined to a wheelchair as she suffers from Aicardi Syndrome, a rare genetic condition that’s theorized to be caused by chromosomal abnormalities that alter the brain structure.

The disease has led to Ava having seizures and vision problems. Most children diagnosed with Aicardi Syndrome are diagnosed early on in life, before they are 5-months old.

With Ava’s love of Disney Princesses, Cinderella to be exact, her father decided to create an incredible costume for her — making sure to include her wheelchair too!

Josh used plumbing pipe, tinsel and complemented the wheelchair with fairy lights to construct a DIY version of Cinderella’s carriage for Ava.

Ava could not have been more excited to get dressed up, have her hair done and model her new look!

Josh shared the perfect transformation in social media, writing:

After a lot of work done on a costume, we made our wee princess her carriage, and she is away to school, enjoy princess.

The costume was created for Halloween last year, but it’s a reminder that you can always make the best out of any situation that life may throw at you.
