If this photograph doesn’t have you booking your next ticket to the Maldives, then we don’t know what will. Already full of crystal clear waters and some of the most sacred wildlife, this part of Maldives known as the Vaadhoo Islands, even has what looks like a sky of stars on the sandy shores of its beaches. What is otherwise known as bioluminescence, all that sparkly water and sand is what happens due to a natural chemical reaction from phytoplankton, or tiny marine microorganisms, mixing with oxygen in the water. And while this may all be a bunch of scientific mumbo jumbo, all we see is magic.
