If you have ever shopped for an area rug you know how incredibly expensive they are. The bigger the rug, the more money you will have to shell out in order to own it. But, what if there was a way to create your own area rug? You would be able to create it using your own ideas and it would be a heck of a lot less cost wise.
Well, good news! You can make your own and in fact, it is quite easy to do!
When Stephanie visited her friend in college, she couldn’t help but notice that she had the coolest area rug. Come to find out, Stephanie’s friend actually made the area rug herself…and here is how she did it!
#DIY
First off, she collected a large amount of carpet squares which she acquired from furniture stores and via Craigslist.
For under $4, she was able to purchase some carpet adhesive tape, which she used to connect the squares together.
Simply cut the tape into strips and connect the squares via the bottom of each.
Instead or purchases a carpet slip pad for $50 to $100, a few dollar store shelf liners were affixed to the bottom of the finished area rug. This prevents the rug from slipping and moving.
Voila! The finished product! Looks cool, you made it and it was super cheap! Enjoy!
