The folks over at the TheRelaxedHomeSchooled.com put together an awesome, simple tutorial on how to build a genius, massive slip and slide! This simple design is guaranteed to please and will be a huge hit whether kids or adults are using it!
The materials to make this slide only cost roughly $30…and you will be able to build a massive slip and slide, opposed to paying $30 for a retail slide that is much, much smaller.
- 3M Plastic Roll (Found in most paint section of hardware stores)
- 8 pool noodles (Dollar Tree has them for $1 each)
- Gorilla double sided tape
- One wood 2×4
- Metal stakes
Here is a short version of how to make it. For full step by step instructions, click HERE!
Roll out the plastic and cut it to length. Clear plastic works best, but black will work too. Just know that the black plastic will get hot as the sun beats down on it.
Stretch your plastic out in the shape of the slip and slide and place the noodles on the sides. The noodles will act as buffers!
Your 2×4 will be placed at the beginning of the slide. Make sure to cut the piece of wood so that there is roughly 6″ of plastic hanging out on each edge. You don’t want the 2×4 to be flush with the edges of the plastic.
You will roll the plastic over the noodles, stake down the plastic and nail the plastic to the wood. The finish product is shown below. For complete steps, please click HERE!
