Excessive Drowsiness or Fatigue

Cloudfront

Fatigue is the medical term for when you are tired and no amount of rest seems to revive you. It happens when your body functions are using more energy to complete their normal tasks, and can last for a long time after your sickness causing the fatigue has been cured. Healthy kidneys generate a hormone called erythropoietin (EPO) that tells your body to make more oxygen-carrying red blood cells. This improves your circulation and helps send healthy cells to your heart and other vital organs. As they kidneys fail, they make less EPO, and your body doesn’t create as many red blood cells. With fewer red blood cells to carry oxygen, your muscles and brain tire very quickly, causing excessive drowsiness, fatigue, and oftentimes, anemia.
