As much of the world has been in lockdown, we have seen bears, mountain lions, turkeys and even goats relaxing in places that they normally wouldn’t — but this time — the king and queen’s of the animal kingdom has joined the relaxation party!
Even lions are enjoying the peace and quiet, a set of new photos from South Africa’s Kruger National Park shows.
The images show a pride of lions lounging on a road, seemingly unperturbed by the presence of the photographer, park ranger Richard Sowry.

“This lion pride are usually resident on Kempiana Contractual Park, an area Kruger tourists do not see,” tweeted Kruger Wednesday. “This afternoon they were lying on the tar road just outside of Orpen Rest Camp.”

Normally, this area is bustling with tourists, but since the country is shut down — tourism is pretty much at a halt.

Typically, with all the traffic that runs through the area, the lions are pushed back into the brush and beyond. Clearly these lions are taking advantage of the lack of humans and also the warmth of the sun baked road!
