Having an unknown food allergy can be life-threatening if not treated accordingly, but having to pay $11,000 for a shot is indeed nuts.  Speaking of nuts, might be a good idea to have yourself checked if you’re allergic to it, too.  Shellfish is one of the most common food allergens and affects nearly 7 million Americans.  But a shellfish allergy is quite different from an allergy to fish and those who are allergic to shellfish are not necessarily allergic to fish, and vice versa.  Among the shellfish family, it is the crustacean group (shrimp, lobster and crab) that causes the most number of allergic reactions, with symptoms like vomiting, stomach cramps, wheezing, repetitive cough, diarrhea, indigestion, and shortness of breath or difficulty breathing.
