It’s not a fluke, folks.  Nothing like having multiple experiences that confirms that there really is something wrong with the system.  A computerized tomography scan (CT or CAT scan) produces sharper images of soft tissue and blood vessels than normal x-rays do, and the cost can range from $270 on the low end to almost $5,000 on the high end.  The cost also depends on the facility, location, and other factors such as if you pay in cash or bill your insurance provider.  The good thing about it is it’s faster than MRI, and CT scans take just 15 to 30 minutes.  But if the CT scan requires a contrast dye, it may take a few hours.  However, this is only done when clearly needed due to the possibility of increased risk in radiation exposure that may lead to cancer.
