Hospitals can ill-afford to be a comedy of errors when it comes to its patients.  It’s so unfortunate that it took them a year to realize the mistake.  The hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU), also known as the intensive therapy unit or intensive treatment unit (ITU) or critical care unit (CCU), is a special department that provides intensive treatment medicine.  It caters to patients that have severe or life-threatening illnesses and injuries that needs round-the-clock care and close supervision from life support equipment and medication to ensure normal body functions. These are usually staffed by highly trained physicians, nurses and respiratory therapists who specializes in taking care of critically ill patients which makes them very costly. They also have higher staff-to-patient ratio and have access to more advanced medical resources and equipment.
