An Inconclusive Test

Not even sure how they managed to arrive at “inconclusive” on a CT scan to determine appendicitis, but to have to pay $10,000 for it, plus the possibility of shelling out more for another is ridiculous.  To diagnose appendicitis, a doctor will usually get the history of the signs and symptoms.  The tests and procedures used in diagnosing appendicitis include: Physical exam to assess the pain done by applying gentle pressure on the painful area, blood test to check for high white blood cell count, urine test to rule out urinary tract infection or kidney stones, and imaging tests where the doctor may recommend an abdominal X-ray, an abdominal ultrasound, computerized tomography (CT) scan or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to confirm appendicitis or find other causes for the pain.
