One of the respondents from Philadelphia who got billed for an out of network anesthesiologist.  Just imagine if you’re in the ER and you’re about to go under, but you would have to make sure first if you’re anesthesiologist is covered by your network.  How about the doctor who’s about to perform the surgery?  He’s covered? Okay.  If the anesthesiologist isn’t, do you really have a choice?  If you don’t have health insurance, the cost of anesthesia can be from below $500 for a local anesthetic given in an office setting to $500-$3,500 or more for regional anesthesia and/or general anesthesia given by an anesthesiologist and/or certified registered nurse anesthetist in a hospital operating room.  This respondent is from Philadelphia and joined Twitter in January 2017.
