Billionaire investor Leon Cooperman got out of managing money for clients back in 2018, subsequently converting Omega Advisors into a family office. At the end of the second quarter of 2020, Cooperman’s 13F reported total security holdings worth $873.9 million in forty different stocks. Of those forty, Cooperman reduced or closed out his investment in twelve. The billionaire’s largest sale was that of newspaper giant Gannet, the carrier of USA Today as well as local papers in twenty-seven states. Omega offloaded 6.1 million shares in the embattled media company, bringing Gannett to a mere 0.3% holding in their portfolio.
